Villa d’Este Guide

Voor normale stervelingen met het autohart op de juiste plaats staat het hoog op het wensenlijstje: ooit eens rondneuzen tijdens een Concours bij d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Het wereldberoemde Villa d’Este-hotel is gedurende de maand mei een nog betere plaats om in vervoering te geraken dan het normaliter al is. In de nabijheid van de vakantiehuizen van onder anderen George Clooney, Sir Richard Branson, Donatella Versace en Lorenzo Riva ondergaat u op deze plek een ware metamorfose. De tuin tussen de twee hotelkamergebouwen staat vol met spectaculaire designstudies. Europa’s meest bijzondere schoonheidswedstrijd voor historische auto’s, conceptstudies en uitzonderlijke carrosserieën maken hun rentree om de ziel en het hart van een kleine groep autobezitters gelukzalig te doen samensmelten.

Met een overweldigend aanbod aan sportwagens uit de Golden Age en conceptauto’s gaat het hier alleen over de absolute top in prijs en uitwerking. De mix van de symbolische vooroorlogse jaren gaat hand in hand met de futuristisch ogende concept-cars. De designers en eigenaren laten aan de bevoordeelden uit deze wereld hun scheppingen en unieke eigendommen zien. Een perfect huwelijk van twee absolute tegenpolen die het beste uit elkaar combineren. Verrijk dit met de distinctie, elegantie en superioriteit van het Villa d’Este-complex dan kan men het alleen nog maar over dit prestigieuze en prachtige auto-evenement hebben.

Dit is misschien wel de hoofdreden dat het Concorso d’Eleganza het Europese topevenement is waar scheppingen uit het rijke verleden de hedendaagse voelsprieten uit de automobielindustrie nog a leaque on it’s own is. De mix van de mooiste scheppingen die zonder invloed van overheidrestricties zijn ontstaan, staan recht tegenover een goedaardige clash van de innovatieve en marketing gevoelige hedendaagse prioriteiten in diverse droomautocreaties. Beide zijn een lust voor het oog. De crème de la crème van de designers uit de auto-industrie die ons doen dagdromen over wat de toekomst gaat brengen. En hoe puur en schitterend het verleden was.

Met 152 hotelkamers in het Grand Hotel Villa d’Este zijn alle kamers en 4 privé villas vergeven aan de eigenaren van de inschrijvingen, genodigde VIP’s, hoofdsponsoren, organisatie, jury en een handvol goedgekeurde aanmeldingen.

De hotels in Cernobbio en Como zijn vaak al voorgeblokt voor gastvrouwen, BMW chauffeurs, pers , automobielfabrikanten, ‘entrant’support team en andere ondersteuning medewerkers.

Er is geen parkeer mogelijkheid op het grondgebied van Villa d’Este.  De overdekte garage is enkel toegankelijk voor ‘entrants’. De ruimte bij de hotelingang is eveneens parkeren verboden. 

Please use Parking Villa d’Este Map  and the P1 Villa Erba Autosilo public parking area for a fee in 2024 of € 10.00 per day.
Furthermore, P4 Villa Erba Galoppatoio is available for a fee in 2014 of € 10.00 per day as well. 

A shuttle service will be provided for guests and their belongings from the P1 Villa Erba Autosilo parking area to Villa d’Este and
back from 09:00–19:00.

Only entrants and weekend stay over guest at Villa d’Este will enjoy access to the grounds of Villa d’Este on all days.   

Saturday is limited, not public and from 09:00 till 17:00. The hostess will give a Guest Medal. Please wear it during the whole day as you need to show it when you want to re-enter the grounds once you left the area of Villa d’Este.

What is included and excluded:
FOOD AND DRINKS.
The Day Entry Ticket Villa d’Este does not include lunch and drinks. You can order drinks and food at Villa d’Este or you can leave the area for having having lunch in the town of Cernobbio. You will find some trattorias and cafés in the city centre and along the Via Regina.

DRESS CODE FOR THE DAYS.
On Saturday, during the day, we kindly ask you to adopt the customary dress code of Elegant
On Sunday, during the day, we kindly ask you to adopt the customary dress code of Smart Casual.

SATURDAY PARADE.
Please understand that reserving seats for viewing at the parade of the cars at Villa d’Este is not possible.

YEARBOOKS.
You can purchase the yearbook for Historic Cars in the Villa d’Este Gift Shop. It is highly re3commended. 

SUNDAY
If in posssion for a Saturday entree, access for the public day- Il Festival – is included. 
Your Day Pass includes a visit to the Public Days – Il Festival on Sunday, 09:30 – 18:00 on the grounds of Villa Erba. Please use the VIP entrance showing your Guest Medal from the day before.

In general there are 10 groups dedicated for classic cars up to hypercars. Added is one competing group  for Prototypes and Concept cars. Not for awards or presented at the parade are the exhibition cars from other brands or anniversary celebrations. 

It is advised to read the information from the year book when looking at all entrants. More often the selected cars do have something unique.
